Mike Odachi

Mike Hideo Odachi, 74, of Volcano, died May 21, 2022, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired State of Hawaii Department of Education elementary educator.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. June 25 at Moon Garden Farms in Mountain View for a celebration of life. Memorial service at Mililani Mortuary Honolulu Downtown Chapel on July 15 with visitation at 10 a.m.; service at 11. Aloha attire suggested, rubber slippers requested. No flowers. Ralph Olson

Ralph Rollin Olson, 76, of Kailua-Kona, died May 27, 2022. Born in South Dakota, he was an owner of a ranch and farm supply business.

He is survived by wife, Mabel Olson of Kailua-Kona; children Kristi (Chris) Neyman and Todd Olson; and two grandchildren.

Eiko Adam

Eiko Amy Tsuzaki Adam, 89, of Kurtistown, died May 28, 2022, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Mountain View, she was a leader in the Kentucky Flat 4-H Club, an avid gardener, rockhound, and member of the Nevada County Gem and Mineral Society, and active in the rose club, feather lei making and lauhala weaving in Hawaii.

Friends may call at noon July 27 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2 pavilion for graveside urn committal service for both she and her husband. Casual attire. No koden (monetary gifts).

She is survived by son, Russell (Kim Smith) Adam of San Jose, Calif.; daughters, Robin Adam and Valerie (Jim) Peters of Kurtistown; brothers, Hiroshi (Patricia) Tsuzaki of Honolulu, Oahu, Stephen (Lucille) Tsuzaki of Kahului, Maui; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Kaua

Elizabeth Ann Lehuanani Kaua, 58, of Hilo, died May 14, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a bus driver with Roberts Hawaii and the former Jack’s Tours.

Johannah Schalk

Johannah Ilima Schalk, 38, of Hilo, died May 14, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a former Corrections Officer with the State of Hawaii, Department of Corrections.

The Rev. Severo Picar Sr.

The Rev. Severo “Sevey” “Berong” Ramos Picar Sr., 82, of Hilo, died April 29, 2022 at his residence. Born Aug. 8, 1939, in Caba La Union, Philippines, he was pastor at Waipahu Full Gospel Chapel and the Hilo First Born Temple.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. June 25 at Hilo First Born Temple for a 10 a.m. funeral service. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Victoria Picar of Hilo; children, Sevey (Daniell, Helen) Picar Jr., Zachary (Lori) Picar, Vince (Paula) Picar and Ruth (Sergio) Cabal of Hilo; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Raymond Chang

Raymond Mee Chow Chang, 81, of Hilo died May 27, 2022, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired manager for Xerox, Wang Laboratories, Servco Pacific and the County of Hawaii, a self-employed handyman, member of New Hope East Hawaii and a U.S. Navy veteran.
